About Onamazu

The founder of Onamazu is a lifelong angler who grew up in between London and Brighton. Those early experiences of growing up in between a melting pot of city-life, street culture, art, music, and underground movements have shaped the Onamazu brand which began in 2024. 

Our name belongs to Japanese mythology, given to gigantic underground catfish who caused earthquakes when they thrashed around. The story symbolizes our belief that the best movements start from underneath the concrete jungle. We are the voice for the underdogs, for the communities and cultures that live underground, and nothing moves without us.
